I love Barcelona hotels for their creativity and design flare, and Ofelias Hotel delivers on both. A small hotel with a kind of Barcelona meets Santa Monica style and a rooftop lap pool.
The rooms are comfortably modern without being austere, and most importantly — the beds are comfortable.
Floral wallpaper in the hallways along with nice library accents and a cool atrium elevator make the reception area interesting enough to hang out in while waiting for your friends.
Ideally situated near Plaça d'Espanya, the Ofelias is connected by metro to the entire city, but has enough to do close to the hotel also. The Fira Barcelona convention centre is basically across the street as is the fountain show at Plaça d'Espanya. Some of the best restaurants in the city are nearby — both the exclusive ones like Tickets, and other lesser knowns in the Poble Sec. Parc Montjuïc is close by also.
