Canadian triathlete Lionel Sanders is having the race of a lifetime at the time of this writing.
After impressively biking his way back to the front pack after coming out of the swim near the back of the field he has maintained a torrid pace on the run course. Challenged only by Sebastian Kienle it appears that he has enough of a lead at the halfway point to carry him home, but it's Kona and anything can happen!
Well at the end of the day Sanders' 2017 Kona Championship dreams were dashed by Patrick Lange in the final quarter of the run, but the Canadian showed the most guts of the day which made for one of the most interesting Ironman champs in recent history.
